Following the year of our neighbors Digital Kitchen’s award winning Stanly experience, we couldn’t let them show us up two years in a row. So we set out to create en experience for the 10,000+ people that walk by the Creature office during the Capitol Hill Block Party weekend.
Using our storefront windows, we created Florence Fantastique the Fantasic. Concert goers were drawn to the window by the spooky music ,smoke machine, talking window display, and fun DIY vibes. At the window they were promptes to ask for a furtune which was delivered to them through a tube connected the top floor. Most of the fortunes felt oddly specific and weird, but the magic happened when we would make sure the fortunes came true! Our street team follow the participants into the block party and follow them around for a while until the right moment when they would make the fortune come true. Example: A guy would get a fortune that says "A girl wearing a Slayer shirt will ask if you used to work at the Spaghetti Factory". Then Amanda, in her Slayer shirt, would follow him around for a while and then she would walk up to him and ask if he used to work at the Spaghetti Factory. Then him and his stoned friends would all flip out. We had dozens more very specific fortunes that we would make come true throughout the day. Hidden cameras caught some of these golden reactions.
On top of those fortunes, we also had other fortunes that would create fun awkward reactions between the person standing next to them. Example “The girl your standing with just looked at your butt” or “This morning your friend was telling a mutual friend that you copied his style”. And of course we cought alll these interactions on hidden camera (seen bellow).
