THE BRIEF BRIEF: Create a campaign that portrays Hugo Chávez's mishaps in a lighthearted and comical manner. Make content sharable over multiple social channels.
When Hugo was running for his fourth presidential term, the people of Venezuela were beginning to catch on to his fantastical excuses for why some things weren't running as smoothly as they should be. Without delving too deeply into another country's politics, we decided to create a lighthearted campaign in support of his opponent, Henrique Capriles Radonski.
This campaign follows Hugo in his famous public service announcements, where he humorously claims that oil is extremely flammable, and thus, he must save his people by giving away all the oil to reduce Venezuela's flammability. He also jests that Venezuela is in need of more nap time, which is why he is implementing random blackouts every day to ensure his people get more rest.
We developed short animations, wild postings, and social media content for this campaign leading up to the 2013 election.
